Rasam Podi

150 or (1/2)cup masoor dal, rinsed and drained

200g or (3/4 cup) chana dal, rinsed and drained'

100g or (1/4 cup) urad dal, rinsed and drained

80g or( 1/2) cup ) coriander seeds

1 cup veg oil

250g dried chillies

5 tablespoons black peppercorns

1 teaspoons asafoetida

2 tablespoons cumin seeds2 teaspoons fenugreek seeds

 

 

Heat a tawa add the dals and coriander seeds and dry-roast for about 1 minute,or until light brown.Heat the oil ub a frying pan over medium heat, add the dried red chillies,peppercorns and asafoetida and fry for about 1-2 minutesTransfer all the ingredients to a spice grinder, make a powder, store in an airtight container and use as required.
