Plain Dosa

Ingredients

  • Iddili rice -2-cups
  • Urid dhal-1/2 cup
  • salt to taste

Method

  1. T.Soak rice in water for 6 hours and urid dhal for 1 hour
  2. Grind the soaked rice, then grind the urid dhal.
  3. Mix the two together and add salt to taste.
  4. Leave over night to ferment. If your batter too thick the next day, you can add a little bit of water.
  5. Turn on the stove and sprinkle  a little bit of oil on the pan.
  6. Once it heats up, take a large spoon of the batter and spread on the pan(circular motion)
  7. Drizzle some oil around the dosa.
  8. Flip to the other and again drizzle some oil around the edges.Once the dosa turns crispy and small holes are visible, if can be taken out of the pan.
  9. Repeat steps 6-9 until you desired amount of dosas.
  10. Serve with any chutney of choice or sambar.
