​Want to prepare a delicious but simple snack within minutes? Then this Onion Bajji is a must try for you! This flavor-some  and brilliant recipe transforms onions, an everyday, simple ingredient into a irresistible snack that is great to have with your afternoon tea.

Ingredients

  •  Ingredient
  • • 1 medium sized onion- sliced
  • • ½ cup basan flour
  • • ½ tsp chilli powder (add more if desired)
  • • Lemon juice- squese
  • • Salt to taste
  • • Oil for deep frying

Method



  1. To the basan flour, add salt, the chillies and a pinch of asafetida
  2. Add enough water to make the batter should not  too thick  nor too thin.
  3. Mix well to ensure that there are no lumps
  4. Add a squeeze of lemon juice for taste.
  5. On the stove place a wok and add enough oil  for for deep frying wait until oil heats up  dip the slices of onions into the batter one by one and gently drop them into the hot oil.
  6. Wait until  the onions turn golden brown
  7. Repeat steps 7-8  until all slices of onions are fried.
  8. Serve with any type of sauce or chutney (mint chutney, tomato sauce etc)
