Eggs have a number of health benefits. Some people have misconceptions that eggs are harmful to health. However, like any other food item, moderation of intake would be wise. The following are the THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF EGGS:

 

  • An egg has approximately 6 grams of high quality proteins
  • Eggs have a significant quantity of choline, which is very useful for the human body in several ways. Choline serves the vital function of cell membrane integrity. Through this function it keeps the brain cells healthy. Choline keeps the nerves healthy by promoting the message-carrying function of the nerves. Choline also helps fight inflammation.
  • It contains lutein and zeaxanthin which are very good for the eyes, and may prevent macular degeneration.
  • Some recent studies have found that eating one or two eggs a day has been found to be helpful for improving heart functions, and to prevent blood clot and strokes. New studies have also revealed that moderate consumption of eggs does not have a negative effect on cholesterol levels. On the contrary, the cholesterol profile may improve.
  • Eggs contain vitamin B12 and vitamin D.
  • Some studies have revealed that eggs may help prevent breast cancer.
  • Eggs promote healthy hair growth on account of their high sulphur content, and a variety of vitamins and minerals.
