Capsicum Bhajji (Banana Chilli Bhajji)
DESCRIPTION
Have some extra capsicums or banana chillies in your fridge? If so, turn those into an innovative,spicy and filling snack in less than few minutes. Easy to prepare and great for the entire family to relish! .
Ingredients
- Banana chilli/capsicums (long)
- salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- coriander leaves-chopped finely for garnishing.
- Pinch of Asefotida
- 4 boiled potatoes- mashed
- oil-enough to deep fry
- water.
Method
- cut the capsicum lengthwise but leave the stem attached.
- Remove the seeds inside.
- place the mashed potatoes in a large bowl
- To this add the coriander leaves,chillies ,asfotida,and salt. Mix well
- Take a handful of potato mixture and stuff into one hollow side of the capsicum.
- Close the capsicum with the other half of the capsicum.
- Repeat this for all the other capsicums(Banana chillies)
- In another bowl place the besan flour ,to this add salt chilli powder and asaftida
- Add enough water to this such that if not too thick or too liquidy
- Mix well ensuring no lumps remain.
- On the stove, place a wok and pour enough oil for deep frying.wait until oil heats.
- Immerse the stuffed capsicum to the besan flour batter and then gently drop the capsicum into the oil.
- Wait until golden brown and then take out of the oil.
- Repeat steps 12 -13 for other capsicums
- Serve with any chutney/saice of your choice.
