Bread Upma
- Cut the bread slices into cubes.
- Turn on the stoves, place the saucepan, and add enough oil for stir-frying.
- Once oil heats up, add the mustard seeds, and wait until they start popping.
- Add the cumin seeds, fennel seeds, and urid dhal. Fry well.
- Add the cinnamon bark, cloves, onions, and green chillies. Continue frying until onion turn brown.
- Add the shredded carrot, cauliflower, cabbage, tomatoes, curry leaves, coriander powder, and turmeric powder. Fry for some time.
- Add salt to taste. Fry until the vegetable fry well.
- Add the pieces of bread gradually.
- Mix well until the bread soaks all the flavour.
- Garnish with coriander leaves before serving.
- 1 loaf of white bread
- 1 carrot - grated
- 1/4 cauliflower - chopped
- 3 medium sized onions - chopped
- 3 green chillies - chopped
- 3 cloves
- Cinnamon bark - small piece
- Cabbage - handful chopped finely
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
- 2 Tomatoes - chopped
- Curry leaves - a pinch
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp turmeic
- 1 tsp urid dhal
- 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 coriander powder
- Oil - about 3 tbsp
